THG Corporation to Host Visual Workplace
Training Seminar for the Lean Consortium

Northborough, MA (3-10-2016) - On March 22-23, 2016, THG Corporation will be the host of a special training seminar sponsored by Visual Thinking Inc., and the AME New England Consortium. The title of the seminar is “Visual Workplace – Visual Thinking.” The two-day seminar is actually a two-part program with instruction on the first day and a hands-on visual assessment of the THG Corporation on the second day.

Demonstrating a Visual Workplace
This unique opportunity for participants will encourage the discovery and discussion of the principles, concepts, methods, and tools that show what a visual workplace is, how it works, and why it’s so important, according to the instructor, Gwendolyn Galsworth, PhD. According to Dr. Galsworth, who is an acknowledged authority on the topic, “Workplace visuality is the language of excellence made visual.” As the author of eight books on the topic, including Visual Workplace, Visual Thinking, and Work That Makes Sense, Dr. Galsworth has been described as the world’s foremost authority on visual management.

THG Pleased to Co-Host Event
According to Randy Roy, VP Operations for THG Corporation, when properly implemented, visual devices create a workplace that is self-ordering, self-explaining, self-regulating, and self-improving. Randy said, “As members of AME New England Lean and as a result of some training we have already received on Lean practices, it was natural for us to want to co-host this event and take advantage of the learning and the direct improvements that will come from our facility being treated as a teaching laboratory.”

Visual Improvement Technologies
The first day of training will focus on how to get sustainable results through people who understand the process. There will be discussion on the ten core visual improvement technologies, how to diagnose visuality, how to track visual’s impact on people, and the vital difference between measures that monitor and measures that drive.

The second day of training will provide a hands-on approach as two teams of participants, tour the THG Corporation facility and then assess the current level of visual competency. The teams will use the assessment techniques taught during the first day of training. The teams will compare their findings and envision next visual steps for THG itself and for their own companies.
